Massage for Babies and Children

Massage comes from the Arabic word meaning "to stroke". It has been used for over 3000 years to boost physical and mental development, promote relaxation and also poses as a great bonding opportunity between a parent and a child. Massage has a rejuvenating effect on the body.

Just some of the benefits experienced from a massage are listed below:
  • Massage relieves discomfort - the most common being gas. Helps ease constipation.

  • Eases congestion by draining mucus from the nasal passages.

  • Enhances sleep quality.
  • Helps with the respiratory system. Children with asthma show better pulmonary function and increased peak air flow.

  • Preterm infants have improved weight gain.

  • The lymph flow is stimulated and thus the body's immunity is enhanced
  • Improve the condition of the body's largest organ: the skin (including eczema and cradle cap problems).
  • Reduce stress.

  • Release endorphins - amino acids that work as the body's natural painkiller. Great for colic sufferers.
  • Prevents sporting injuries.
