What is Yoga?

The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit. Yoga unites the body, mind and soul. It is a proven method to calm and centre children. By incorporating the exercises, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation, children are taught to listen to their bodies and their inner selves and thus learn to balance their being.

The classes are fun and interactive, learn to fly like butterflies, stomp like an elephant, sing and act out your ABC's and numbers, learn how to calm your mind, gather your energy and become stronger and more confident!

Family Time Yoga

Family Time Yoga is for the whole family to enjoy quality time together. If you've always wanted to try yoga but have been too afraid to for fear of looking silly then this class is a must – it's a requirement to look silly as you'll be doing kids yoga!

By doing yoga together as a family, parents and children are able to bond and communicate more effectively. Positive touch through partner poses and massage helps children to learn healthy physical boundaries as well as boosting their self-esteem through the love and affection given by their parents. Yoga is scientifically proven to aid in concentration and focus which in turn makes you smarter. Most importantly yoga helps parents to reawaken their inner child and helps you to remember how to have FUN.

So pack up the baby and older kids and join us Friday mornings at the George Burnett Leisure Centre on Manning Road at 10am and come and have a blast.
